This past weekend was one of the best weekends of my life!!! The weather was in the 50s-60s and Todd and I got out and started Saturday by having breakfast at one of our favorite places, Another Broken Egg Cafe. We just really love the one here because its actually on the river with TONS of windows. Plus its among other local businesses and the River Walk so you can people watch too!
There's just something about cold air and a cloudy day that makes me instantly happy. It makes me feel so excited to get out and explore and keeps me feeling awake!! I know most people don't, but do you enjoy cool weather too??
This big cozy mustard sweater was so great for this cool morning. It kept my nice and warm even though I had these favorite ripped jeans on!! And by now, you probably know I have two favorite pairs of booties. I love both for different reasons, but honestly I loved these so much, I ordered them in black too!!
After leaving breakfast and the River Walk, we decided we were having so much fun being out that we'd do an outfit change and go take more pictures at another cool location in Northport-- more on that in another post.
So we just pretty much stayed out all day, walking the woods and letting Timber enjoy the cold air, too. It always makes her so frisky, lol!
We would wrap her leash around a nearby tree when we'd stop for a picture. She would fuss at us some because she wanted to explore more, lol!
And for those of you who didn't catch my Story on Instagram Stories, I just wanted to encourage you to stand firm against any scheme of satan. I'd talked a little on what happened as we were traveling to Nashville for weekend vacation-- flat tire and crushed phone at 9 at night!! We were both just stunned honestly. We drove to get to a gas station as quickly as we could all while watching the PSI on the tire monitor go down to 22 as we pulled in. While trying to get the jack out from under the seat (and i mean that thing was wedged in there, Todd had to flip the seat back down where he was using my practically brand new phone (just had the screen replaced and bought a new case only 4 weeks prior) as a flashlight. He felt it catch and the shoved it down a little harder. Turns out my phone was what made it catch and it bent my phone and something punctured through the case and the screen. By this point I was in shock and shed a few tears. It almost seemed like the Lord was trying to tell us something like: "Slow down, turn around, Nashville isn't for you." or "Don't rely on material things or anything of this world, rely on Me and know the all blessings come from Me." While I know the second one to be true, the first thought scared me and I realized, you know what? Maybe He was trying to slow us down to keep us from a wreck that might've costed us our lives. These things that have just happened to us are so small. and how blessed are we that we know we will still have a meal as soon as we want one?! This didn't have to devastate us and we could still be thankful. And we were just so grateful. Grateful we were okay and grateful that the devil had not won and will not win. Don't let him make you turn back around. You never know what glory God has ahead for you. If you give in, if you cave, he'll just keep doing it because whatever it may be, it's working. So stand firm in the Lord and choose joy because you are a child of the King of the universe.
